  Aldi is unique and wonderful. The store is designed to require less employees and have less waste, which results in prices that are considerably lower than other grocery stores. You deposit a quarter to take a cart and get one back when you return your cart, so they don't have to pay someone to do it for you. They provide a place after the register for customers to bag their own groceries with their own bags, which again eliminates the need for extra staff and makes the lines move more quickly. It also makes me happy to see that all cashiers are given chairs, which leads me to believe they take care of their employees.
